China will study legislation on consular protection for its nationals abroad, with base motions and proposals submitted by lawmakers and political advisors in the country, said Tuesday the Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs Li Zhaoxing, at a press conference here Tuesday on the sidelines of the annual session of National People’s Congress (NPC) of China.

In serious cases, the Chinese Ministry will respond immediately and send special representatives on hand to protect the legal rights of overseas Chinese.
