Poland: Janusz Kaczmarek was appointed Minister of Interior
Polish President Lech Kaczynski on Thursday named Janusz Kaczmarek interior minister after the departure of two ministers last week.
Kaczmarek, 46, the main national prosecutor for 15 months, replaces Ludwik Dorn, who resigned Wednesday, two days after the Defense Minister Radoslaw Sikorski was thrown in the towel.
Mr. Dorn said his resignation “different opinions” between him and Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski, twin brother of President Kaczynski, about an important issue concerning operations of the Ministry of Interior.
Dorn was appointed interior minister in October 2005 and became deputy prime minister a month later. He was co-founder with Freema Kaczynski’s Law and Justice Party (PiS).
